END-USER COMPUTING: SHORT-COURSE 

The purpose of the qualification is to build the knowledge and skills required by learners in End User Computing. It is intended to empower learners to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently in the End User Computing environment in the South African community and to respond to the challenges of the economic environment.

The qualification addresses the need in the workplace.
The qualification provides a framework for learners to develop skills that will enable them to become competent in End User Computing. It introduces theoretical concepts of End User Computing and requires the application thereof, to develop a range of skills that will enable learners to be better-informed workers in their chosen industry. It provides a balanced learning experience that lays the foundation for access to further education, life long learning and to productive employment.
 

End-User Computer Course package range from Introduction to the advanced level and include the following:

  • Computer Keyboarding Skills (for beginners)

  • Typing Techniques for data capturing, presentation, etc.

  • Microsoft Windows Environment

  • Microsoft Word Documents

  • Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets

  • Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation

  • Database

  • Presentation Skills

Amitek Business College Lecturers are qualified and are experts in their fields.

DURATION AND OPTIONS:

  • 3 months Full time  (Monday – Thursday)

  • 4 months or 6 Months

  •  Part time  (Saturdays 3 hours) or times to suit the student

ON COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE, YOU WILL ACHIEVE:

A qualifying learner will be able to:

  • Competently apply the knowledge, techniques and skills of End User Computing applications in the workplace.

  • Understand the impact and use Information Communication and Technology (ICT) in an organisation and society.

  • Improve Communication by combining communication skills with End User Computing skills.

  • Improve the application of mathematical literacy in the workplace, by better utilising applicable End User Computing Applications

  • The practical ability to touch type.

  • The ability to apply practical knowledge in managing Windows (the platform for various computer applications).

  • The practical ability to produce professional-looking documents in Word by providing a comprehensive set of tools for creating and formatting documents.

  • The practical ability to complete a spreadsheet program that is designed to record and analyze numbers and data, juggle numbers, formula and text and present your work in a polished, professional-looking format.

  • The practical ability to produce, edit and present powerful PowerPoint presentations.

ADMISSION TO THE COLLEGE:

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12, 11 or 10 or

  • A Recognition of Prior Learning Assessment (RPL) to meet basic requirements or

  • Work experience

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Enrolment Form signed by learner and legal guardian with contact numbers

  • Copy of ID (learner and legal guardian)

  • Proof of residence (Utility Bill)

 

ASSESSMENT:

  • Theory and Practical Examination

QUALIFICATION:

  • AMITEK BUSINESS COLLEGE Competency Certificate will be issued after achieving the Assessment

  • AMITEK BUSINESS COLLEGE Attendance Certificate will be issued for non-Assessment
